Killbucket's
Custom SteamPunk Glasses.
SteamPunk Glasses are 100% custom-built,
not based on eyeglasses. 2x magnifier, 18kt gold details,
copper, brass, tin, other materials.
Sorry, this item is GONE, purchased by an
ardent SteamPunker in MI.
Taken with a
Samsung S730, 3 megapixel setting, macro mode, fingertip over
enabled flash to produce more red tones.
Post-processed in PhotoShop 5.5, blur
filter, six passes. Background of black velvet painted out
with diffused edges.
They weigh nearly
half a pound. They are counter-weighted behind the ears to
keep them in place.
While scrubbing the flux off after the
assembly, I took a few arty, sudsy shots.
The two big gears are from a SYMA S032
helicopter, the 2x eye loupe is from Harbor Freight. Smaller
gears are from SYMA's S032 series helicopter.
The two larger gears
rotate in mesh. Main frames are heavy copper electrical wire,
and were constructed on an oak form made to duplicate the
dimensions of my own
eyeglasses.
I thought a "Dissection Drill" would be
more ominous than an ordinary set of magnifying lenses.
This item has been sold, and will not be
duplicated.
