The Ma Deuce has had many specific design classifications.
Official designation for the current M2 Machine gun type is
Browning Machine Gun, Caliber .50, M2 Heavy Barrel, Flexible.
It is most effective against fortified infantry, uparmored or
lightly armored vehicles and patrol boats, light battlement
fortifications and lighter aircraft.
THE CAMERA ALLOWS REAL-TIME VIEWING OF
THE GUUN'S ASSIGNED AREA, EVEN IN TOTAL DARKNESS, BECAUSE IT
IS NIGHT-VISION EQUIPPED.
Most current M2HB guns are manufactured in the United
States by General Dynamics and U.S. Ordnance, and some are
made for US Foreign Allies, via Foreign Military Sales
activity. FN Herstal also manufactures the M2 machine gun, and
has since the 1930s. It has been used extensively as a mounted
vehicle weapon when placed in a mark 93 gun cradle.
