Aged metal Painting

I used the base coat from the pewter kit.
See that "stippling" around the safe-fire selector?
I didn't get all the alcohol dried before I shot the base coat.
The paint immediately "fisheye'd". I almost did something about it, but it looks like old rust that was wire-brushed off years ago, so I left it.
A mistake isn't always a mistake.

But the topcoat they provide is grey, so I improvised.

I sprayed on flat black and brown enamel at random...

And used a paper towel soaked in mineral spirits (paint thinner) to wipe it away until I got the effect I wanted.
The furniture was done the same way, but without the silver base coat.

The front of the springer mag I converted, and the real NOS front grip I got at IMA.

Not quite authentic looking on the mag details, but it does work.
I think the antique job helps hide this.

The winder for the M14 hicap, turned sideways inside.
